MISSION - Latest News

The Kansas legislature passed the Kansas Clean Indoor Air Act making all public places and workplaces statewide smoke free, including restrictions in bars and restaurants.  The law becomes effective on July 1, 2010, and provides exemptions for private clubs in existence before Jan. 1, 2009, tobacco retail shops, 20% of hotel rooms and casino floors throughout the state.

Mission's comprehensive 2008 smoking ordinance will remain fully effective.  This ordinance does not include any exemptions.

We would like to thank the Mission City Council and citizens for taking the initiative with their comprehensive 2008 smoking ordinance.
